FIGARO at Hope Summer Repertory Theatre

June 2022

I am DELIGHTED to be playing Suzanne in HSRT's production of FIGARO this June, as part of their 50th season! This is an actual dream role of mine, and this production should be a blast. And here's to my first AEA contract!

Take a look!

I Joined Actors' Equity!

March 2022

I am officially a proud member of the Actors' Equity Association, and delighted to be exploring what fun new opportunities are coming my way already with this change!

TA/Intern at The Tourist Trap Stage Combat Workshop

February 4-6, 2022

Just got back from being a TA and intern for the Tourist Trap 2022, and WHAT a phenomenal time! Jason Paul Tate and Rob Aronowitz ran a safe, fun, frequently silly workshop, and it was a real pleasure to dust off my fight skills some more, and make some new connections!

Weapons Renewals with Tooth & Claw Combat Arts

September - October 2021

It's been a delight assisting Casey Kaleba (SAFD Certified Teacher) again with his Single Sword class through Round House Theatre—I'd missed that element of training and teaching. Renewing my own certifications in Single Sword and Rapier & Dagger (with Recommendation!) was a nice perk, too!

VIXENS EN GARDE on Tour Again!

August - October 2021

I had the enormous delight to tour with the Vixens En Garde again this late-Summer into Fall, back in the bodice with blade in hand. After wondering last year if the renaissance faire circuit would shutter completely due to the pandemic, it felt incredible to bring laughter and swordplay to life again!

Audio Edition

Summer 2021

The cast of the eight-play SHAKESPEARE'S HISTORIES project is spending Summer 2021 transitioning our work into the fun and fascinating medium of episodic audio plays, before Brave Spirits Theatre shutters for good. Making this change has been both challenging and delightful, and I'm having a marvelous time bringing the Earl of Warwick, and the oiliest Buckingham, to full vocal life!

...And then COVID happened.

As you are well aware, we are currently neck-deep in a global pandemic, and all theatre has closed up shop since March 2020. Here's hoping you and yours are safe and well, and to finding fun, inventive, adventuresome ways of pursuing our art until we can congregate in person again!

Unfortunately, Brave Spirits Theatre has been a casualty of COVID-19—the company has shuttered for good. The New York Times did a beautiful piece about the HISTORIES project and the hopes we held, and I remain grateful for all the joy and truth we found. Do give it a read.

1 HENRY IV with Brave Spirits Theatre is Open!

January 30 - April 18th, 2020

Another play open! 1 HENRY IV continues the saga of Brave Spirits Theatre's magnificent two-year SHAKESPEARE'S HISTORIES PROJECT, and the accolades have come flowing in. This show is particularly dear to me, since I'm blessed to play both the axe-wielding Countess of Douglas, and the Welsh-wielding Lady Mortimer--who, in this production, has an entire scene in her native tongue. It's demanding and delightful work, and I'm so happy to share it with audiences now. Tickets available here!

Next up: 2 HENRY IV, in which I'm a swing, and finally HENRY V, which is my one show off in this eight-play cycle, and a well-earned breather.

"Lisa Hill-Corley's turn as Worcester and Molly E. Thomas' gruff, tough Douglas are standouts."
BroadwayWorld.com review

"Molly E. Thomas impresses in two important roles: Countess of Douglas and Lady Mortimer."
DC Metro Arts review

"Tom Howley (Glendower, Vernon, etc) and Molly E Thomas (Lady Mortimer, Douglas, etc) turn in very impressive ensemble work, juggling multiple characters."

RICHARD II with Brave Spirits Theatre is Open

January 2 - April 18, 2020

We have officially begun performances of RICHARD II as part of Brave Spirits Theatre's epic undertaking, the SHAKESPEARE'S HISTORIES PROJECT! And audiences and critics absolutely love us, and have given some kind words to my own work. Performances run through April 18th, and tickets can be bought here!

"[Director] Smith also makes a point of foregrounding the powerful women of Richard's court, led by Molly E. Thomas' blistering rage as the Duchess of Gloucester."
BroadwayWorld review

"Molly E. Thomas is excellent as the bereaved Duchess of Gloucester."

January 2 - April 19, 2020

Rehearsals are well under way for Brave Spirits Theatre's history-making SHAKESPEARE'S HISTORIES project, during which our ensemble of 20 will be performing all eight of the Bard's history plays in repertory over two years, and we are having an absolute nerdy blast of a time putting all of this together. Tickets are now on sale for the full two years, and are already selling quickly, which has all of us thrilled and excited!

This first year's shows are the HENRIAD, comprising RICHARD II, 1 HENRY IV, 2 HENRY IV, and HENRY V, and my rehearsal hours are steeped in elegant anger, stage combat, the exploration of Welsh, and Scottish accents, to flesh out my roles of the Duchess of Gloucester (R2), the Douglas (1H4), and Lady Mortimer (1H4), among others. I'm having a marvelous time, and using every tool in my actor toolbox while acquiring some new ones. Our first preview is January 2nd, 2020!

SHAKESPEARE'S HISTORIES with Brave Spirits Theatre

2019 - 2021

I am absolutely over the moon to announce that I am joining Brave Spirits Theatre in Washington, DC, in their enormous two-year SHAKESPEARE'S HISTORIES project, running the eight histories from RICHARD II through RICHARD III one after another, and then in repertory, for the next two years. The company states, "In 2020, Brave Spirits Theatre will make history by becoming the first professional American theatre company to mount full productions of Shakespeare’s two tetralogies and perform them in repertory. Performing near the nation’s capital, Brave Spirits will bring a distinctly American stamp to these plays, while also staging them in their signature actor-driven, intimate, and dark style."

This is literally a dream job for me, and I cannot wait to dive into this many sword-fights and this much text--especially as I will be playing Warwick in all three parts of HENRY VI, and Buckingham in RICHARD III!

MAC INTENSIVE with Neutral Chaos Combat

May 10 - 14, 2019

I have been accepted as one of 16 participants to attend the inaugural Mentoring Advanced Combatants (MAC) Intensive at Indiana University, created and hosted by Neutral Chaos Combat. This exclusive 5-day intensive is an opportunity for advanced combatants with large amounts of training and experience to further their skills in technique, pedagogy, choreography, martial technique, and general continuance of their craft. I am honored to be part of this cohort, and can't wait to get started!

CYRANO with Titan Theatre Company

February 8 - 17, 2019

I am proud to announce that I am the Fight Director and the understudy for Cyrano himself in Titan's upcoming production of CYRANO, directed by Mary MacDonald Kerr. The opportunity to play with these gorgeous words, and to swashbuckle to my heart's content, has me absolutely ecstatic, and I can't wait to share this show with the world! Check out the BroadwayWorld.com article for more details!

THE ROARING GIRL with Rude Grooms

November 30, 2018

I will be playing Moll Cutpurse, the Roaring Girl herself, in Rude Grooms's exploration of THE ROARING GIRL, a rarely-performed Jacobean play of laughter, intrigue, and raillery, and I'm THRILLED! A female character who dresses in male attire, sword-fights, dares to perform on stage, and generally flouts convention in every way she can? Sign me up. #Typecasting
